The Residential villa for Mr. Raiker is located in the scenic coastal town of Gokarna, Karnataka. The objective is to create a contemporary dwelling that offers modern comforts while responding harmoniously to the region’s tropical climate and earthy landscape. The design seeks to balance privacy with openness using a robust and culturally resonant material palette.
The core design concept revolves around “Earthy Modernism.” It attempts to break away from plain concrete structures by introducing the warmth of vernacular materials into a highly modern, geometric building. The building is conceptualized as a series of intersecting cuboids, unified by strong horizontal bands and a material language that connects the street-level boundary to the roofline.
